Recharge Yourself Massage and Wellness is in the process of adding a Salt Therapy room. In doing so, we wanted to share with you a few benefits it has to offer, especially if you are unfamiliar with what Salt Therapy is.

Salt therapy is also known as Halotherapy. It is a natural therapy that involves inhaling salt particles in a controlled environment, As this therapy is gaining popularity, more people are turning to halotherapy for its numerous health benefits. Salt therapy rooms, one of the most popular ways of experiencing halotherapy, are designed to recreate the microclimate of a salt cave.

A salt room is a specially designed room that has either walls made of salt, or may use large salt panels. Some salt rooms have ceiling and floors with salt as well, but not all salt rooms do. The salt panels or walls are heated, and there is a special machine, called a halogenerator, that dispenses tiny salt particles into the air. Clients sit in the room for a specified amount of time, inhaling the salt particles. Our Salt Room will have large Salt Wall panels on each wall along with loose salt gravels along the wall edges. Here are five health benefits of halotherapy used in a salt room.

  1. Skin Health

Salt particles in the air has been found to have a positive effect on the skin. Halotherapy is known to improve skin hydration, making it ideal for people who deal with dry skin conditions such as psoriasis and or eczema. Salt has anti-inflammatory properties which can help reduce skin irritation and redness.

  1. Respiratory Health

Halotherapy provides relief for respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, and allergies. Inhaling salt particles can help to clear congestion, making it easier to breathe. Due to the anti-inflammatory properties of salt, the salt particles also help reduce inflammation within the airways, unclog mucus, and can improve breathing.

  1. Stress Relief

Salt therapy rooms have a relaxing atmosphere which can help to reduce levels of stress. Having warm salt particles in the air, along with relaxing ambient noise are used to promote relaxation by calming the mind and body. Halotherapy has been proven to stimulate the production of the body’s feel-good hormones, endorphins.

  1. Immune System Boost

Halotherapy can boost the immune system by increasing the production of white blood cells. The salt particles have antimicrobial properties which can help kill harmful bacteria and viruses.

  1. Improved Sleep

The stress-relieving effects and relaxation of halotherapy can have a positive effect on promoting a more restful sleep as well as improving sleep quality.

In conclusion, halotherapy in a salt room can provide a number of benefits for your health and well-being. Whether you are just looking for relief for respiratory conditions, reduction of stress, improving skin conditions, or just want to improve your overall health, halotherapy can be a very effective therapy to consider as part of your self-care routine. As with any therapy, it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider before trying halotherapy, especially if you have any underlying medical conditions. We plan on having our Salt Room up and running sometime in August 2023.
